Beginning with the 2026 MBN Season, graduating seniors will be eligible to compete in the following events:

MBN High School Team Trail (HSTT) MBN High School State Championship (HSSC)

Graduating seniors will compete against the full field under the same tournament rules and conditions.

Eligibility & Competition

Teams may consist of graduating seniors only or a combination of a graduating senior and underclassmen. These teams are eligible to win tournaments, earn trophies, receive payouts, and accumulate Trail & Angler of the Year (AOY) points.

Advancement Restrictions

Teams that include a graduating senior are not eligible to advance to the following year’s B.A.S.S. High School Nationals.

National qualification is determined one year in advance by the MBN Youth Division HSTT and HSSC results. Per National B.A.S.S. rules, graduating seniors are ineligible to compete in Nationals once they are removed from high school. Underclassmen paired with a graduating senior are also ineligible to advance through MBN events. In cases where a graduating senior team qualifies, advancement will roll down to the next eligible team.

Additional Notes

All teams are still required to have a Boat Captain (third person) to operate the boat.
Teams that include a graduating senior remain eligible to compete in same-year National B.A.S.S. High School Opens as a pathway to the same-year B.A.S.S. High School National Championship (this has always been the case)
Graduating seniors will be require to be full MBN Members.
